How Businesses Use Hykmah + OneDrive
Real scenarios from businesses automatically archiving Hykmah documents inside their Microsoft 365 environment.
Field service documentation accessible via Teams and SharePoint
Challenge: Field service business using Microsoft 365 for team collaboration. Operon job reports and site photos generated after every job — but stored in Hykmah, not in the Microsoft 365 environment the team worked in daily. Staff logged into Hykmah just to retrieve documents.
Solution: Operon job completion reports and site photos save to a SharePoint document library automatically. The whole team accesses job documentation from Microsoft Teams or SharePoint without logging into Hykmah.
Finance team accessing invoices from OneDrive without Hykmah credentials
Challenge: Microsoft 365 organisation generating invoices in Hykmah. Finance team and external accountant needed invoice PDFs but didn't have Hykmah access — requiring manual exports and email delivery each month.
Solution: Every Hykmah invoice saves to an OneDrive Invoices folder automatically, organised by month. Finance team and accountant access invoices directly from OneDrive — no Hykmah credentials required.
Enterprise keeping Hykmah documents within Microsoft 365 governance
Challenge: Enterprise organisation with Microsoft 365 data governance policies — data residency requirements, retention policies, and compliance frameworks requiring documents to live within the Microsoft 365 tenant. Hykmah-generated documents outside this environment created compliance gaps.
Solution: OneDrive integration with Azure AD authentication keeps all Hykmah documents inside the Microsoft 365 tenant. SharePoint document libraries, retention policies, and DLP rules apply to Hykmah documents the same as any other Microsoft 365 document.
Hykmah Documents Inside Your Microsoft 365 Environment
For organisations running Microsoft 365, OneDrive integration means Hykmah documents live where your team already works — in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams — inside your existing governance and compliance framework. No separate cloud storage tool to manage.
SharePoint Document Libraries
Target SharePoint document libraries directly — not just personal OneDrive. Documents save to the correct SharePoint site and library, accessible from Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive simultaneously. Existing SharePoint permissions and metadata structures apply.
Azure AD Authentication and Governance
Connect via Azure AD OAuth2 — the same identity and access management your organisation uses for every Microsoft 365 app. For enterprise organisations, Hykmah can be registered as an Azure AD enterprise application with granular permission scoping.
Microsoft 365 Compliance Boundary
Documents saved to OneDrive or SharePoint inherit your organisation's Microsoft 365 compliance policies — retention labels, DLP rules, eDiscovery, and data residency settings. Hykmah-generated documents are governed the same way as any other Microsoft 365 document.
Teams and SharePoint Access
Documents saved from Hykmah to SharePoint are accessible directly from Microsoft Teams channels and SharePoint sites. No separate app or login — your team finds Hykmah documents in the Microsoft 365 tools they use every day.
OneDrive integration is included in all Hykmah plans — no per-document fees, no storage limits imposed by Hykmah.

An invoice is generated, a job is completed, a contract is signed, or a photo is attached to a job record in Hykmah.
Hykmah Pushes to OneDrive via Microsoft Graph
Hykmah calls the Microsoft Graph API and saves the document to the configured OneDrive folder or SharePoint document library. Folders are created automatically if they don't exist.
Document Available in Microsoft 365
The document appears in OneDrive or SharePoint immediately — accessible from Teams, SharePoint, and the OneDrive app. Microsoft 365 compliance policies apply from the moment of upload.
Technical Architecture:
-

Common Issues & Solutions
Documents not appearing in OneDrive
Azure AD token expired, insufficient permissions, or destination folder changed since setup.
Fix: Check integration status at Settings → Integrations → OneDrive. Re-authorise if the Azure AD token has expired. Verify Hykmah has write access to the configured destination. Check the OneDrive folder or SharePoint library hasn't been renamed or moved.
SharePoint permission denied
Authorising Microsoft 365 account lacks write access to the target SharePoint site.
Fix: Verify the authorising account has Contribute or higher permissions on the target SharePoint site. Contact your Microsoft 365 admin to grant the appropriate SharePoint permissions, then re-authorise the Hykmah integration.
Files saving to wrong folder
Folder structure configuration doesn't match the document type, or customer/job record missing the field used for folder naming.
Fix: Review folder structure configuration at Settings → Integrations → OneDrive → Folder Settings. Verify the Hykmah record has the relevant field populated (e.g. customer name, job ID) used in the folder path.
Azure AD enterprise app consent required
Organisation requires admin consent for third-party app access to Microsoft 365 data.
Fix: Your Microsoft 365 admin needs to grant admin consent for Hykmah's Azure AD app registration in your tenant. Contact support@hykmah.com for the enterprise app registration details to provide to your admin.
