Integration Architecture
Sync Method
Invoices, payments, and credit notes sync in real-time via webhook when events occur in Hykmah (e.g. invoice created, payment received). For platforms that don't support webhooks, scheduled polling runs at configurable intervals (default: every 15 minutes). Bulk historical sync is available for initial setup.
Authentication
OAuth2 for Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks — users authorise via the external platform's login screen. No accounting credentials are stored in Hykmah. Token refresh is handled automatically.
Data Mapping
Default field mappings cover invoices, contacts, payments, tax codes, and chart of accounts. Mappings are configurable — you can map Hykmah fields to custom chart of accounts structures, tax categories, and tracking categories in your accounting system. Multi-currency transactions map to the accounting system's base currency with exchange rate handling.
Error Handling
Failed syncs are retried automatically (3 attempts with exponential backoff). Failed records are flagged in the integration dashboard with the specific error (e.g. duplicate invoice number, missing tax code mapping). Users receive email notifications for persistent failures. No data is lost — failed records queue for manual review and re-sync.
