Integration Architecture
Sync Method
Payment events (authorisation, capture, refund, dispute) sync in real-time via webhook as they occur at the gateway. Transaction data is written to Hykmah immediately on webhook receipt. Settlement and reconciliation data syncs on a configurable schedule (default: nightly) once gateway settlement reports are available.
Authentication
Stripe, Square, PayPal, and Adyen use OAuth2 — users authorise via the gateway's own login screen. No gateway credentials are stored in Hykmah. Authorize.net and eWAY use API key authentication configured during setup. PayTo uses NPP mandate authentication — customers pre-authorise payments via their bank. All credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
PCI-DSS Compliance
Hykmah is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant. Card data is never stored on Hykmah servers — all card details are tokenised at the gateway. Hykmah stores only the payment token and last-four digits for display purposes. 3D Secure 2.0 is supported across all applicable gateways.
Data Mapping
Standard mappings cover: transactions, refunds, disputes, settlement records, and customer payment profiles. Payments map to invoices and orders in Hykmah automatically. Gateway-specific fields (e.g. Stripe charge IDs, PayPal transaction IDs) are stored against each transaction for reconciliation and support.
Error Handling
Failed payment webhooks are retried automatically (3 attempts with exponential backoff). Failed recurring payments trigger configurable retry schedules and dunning workflows. All gateway errors are logged in the integration dashboard with error codes and raw gateway responses. Dispute and chargeback notifications are surfaced in real-time via webhook.
